Newly admitted undergraduates and returning students are ready to kick off one of UNIST’s biggest events of the year, the 2019 UNIST Matriculation Ceremony.
In the morning of February 19th, inside the Auditorium (2F) of Main Administration Building at UNIST was charged with energy and hope, as members of the Class of 2023 officially began their undergraduate journey at the annual Matriculation ceremony.
This year, 384 fresh students (343 students in Science & Engineering and 41 students in Business Administration) were officially welcomed to UNIST in the presence of their family and professors who held witness to this important milestone.
The Oath of Freshmen was delivered by student representatives, JungWon Lee (Science & Engineering) and SiYul Wi (Business Administration) on behalf of newly admitted students of UNIST.
The ceremony also featured the awarding of scholarship certificates to the students with outstanding entrance scores. The 2019 UNIStar Scholarship recipients include SeungJoon Kim, JaeSung Kim, TaeHyun Kim, ChaeEun Park, JungWon Lee, HeonJae Lee, and SeongWook Hong.
The scholarship and award presentation ceremony was followed by greetings and welcome remarks by UNIST President Mooyoung Jung and other distinguished guests.
“The future belongs to those who prepare for it, today,” says President Jung. “Throughout your years at UNIST, I encourage you to use your time wisely and work steadily to achieve your goals in order to become global leaders that the world needs.”
He adds, “UNIST, which has laid the foundation for fostering global scientific talents via 100% English-taught lectures and mandatory AI training, will help you develop the skills necessary for you to survive and thrive in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.”
