Professor Dong Sub Kim, Director of Institute for Future Industry Strategy (IFIS) at UNIST partook in the G20 summit preparation meeting, held on March 15-18 in the German city of Berlin.
The primary focus of this meeting was to build partnerships and strengthen international cooperation on the “Fourth Industrial Revolution and Digitizing Manufacturing”, one of the main agenda of the 2017 G20 Hamburg summit.
In this meeting, various agendas were presented, such as vitalization of SMEs, structural reform of the education system and reform of national regulations, cyber security, employment safety and quality of labor, and the impact of the fourth industrial revolution on the world.
With more than 650 experts from around the world in attendance, Director Kim shared his views on the future of manufacturing and highlighted the necessity for international cooperation and partnerships in the sphere of manufacturing.
“Using the technologies presented by the Fourth Industrial Revolution, we need to innovate the business and improve the education system that corresponds to this flow,” says Director Kim. “Through this meeting, UNIST has established an important network with organizations that are leading the world’s fourth industrial revolution.”
Director Kim is now preparing to hold the “Ulsan Forum on Fourth Industrial Revolution”, which is scheduled to be held from September 13-14, 2017. The forum will be attended by leaders and renowned experts from around the world, including the Founder and Executive Chairman Klaus Schwab of the World Economic Forum (WEF).
