On September 30, UNIST hosted an academic conference on artificial intelligence (AI) for the first time in the southeastern region. This move was aimed at establishing an AI innovation ecosystem in the region and accelerating innovation in related industries.
Took place in the auditorium of the main administration building of UNIST, the AI Technology Open Workshop has been attended by 16 faculty members, specialized in artificial intelligence. The aim of this workshop was to provide researchers with a forum to exchange and discuss scientific contributions, open challenges, and latest advancements in AI technologies.
The workshop covered three main topics: AI core technologies, AI system, and AI+X. Professors, affiliated with the UNIST AI Graduate School and the AI Innovation Park introduced in-depth technologies in various fields, such as the latest AI algorithms, 3D vision with AI, materials discovery and design using AI, future mobility, and AI in healthcare applications.
The workshop was held in a hybrid manner, a mix of both online and offline. About 350 people participated in the event, including students and professors from 10 research institutes and universities in the southeastern region. Officials from 80 companies, including 40 companies in the southeastern region and 26 companies in the Seoul/Gyeonggi regions, also attended the meeting.
