UNIST has recently embarked on a new partnership with Korea Zinc Co., Ltd. to create new opportunities for students and research collaborations. Through this agreement, the two organizations have decided to increase synergy effects on research capabilities and contribute to the joint development of the two organizations.
The agreement also included cooperation measures, such as R&D consulting and consulting, joint use of research facilities and equipment, expansion of technology exchanges, and fostering customized professional talents.
A ceremony to mark the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two organizations also took place at UNIST on November 24, 2022. The ceremony has been attended by Director Jibum Chung of UMRC, Executive Director Chun-seok Kim of Hankook Research Co.,Ltd., and key officials from both organizations.
Meanwhile, UNIST and Korea Zinc Co., Ltd. have been carrying out various cooperative projects. Under the supervision of the UNIST Industry-Academic Cooperation Group, several joint industry-academic projects were promoted. In addition, UNIST students were dispatched through the Coop program to conduct a long-term internship course for more than six months. In 2021, it signed a joint research MOU in the fields of secondary batteries and new materials. This business agreement will be promoted for industry-academic cooperation between the two institutions (▲ R&D and consulting advice ▲ finding joint research projects ▲ fostering customized professional talents and training of incumbent workers).
In particular, the two organizations will select and carry out research tasks for the development of process design packages for collecting and utilizing carbon dioxide, the development and demonstration of mixed combustor models in the field of carbon neutrality.
