“UNIST’s calm setting allows you to focus on world-class research,” says Dr. Katherine Kim who is an assistant Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UNIST.

“UNIST is a relatively young university, but this means that students are being taught by younger professors who are current in their fields and I think this is great, ” says Prof. Kim. Moreover, according to her, UNIST’s eco-frieldly campus, together with its calm setting create an effective learning and teaching environment for everyone on campus.
In 2014, Dr. Kim joined UNIST as an Assistant Professor with research and teaching focus in power electronics, control, power systems, simulation, and modeling. Prof. Kim’s research interests are in the areas of green technology, renewable energy industry, photovoltaic systems for smart grid integration, power for wearable electronics, and innovations for electric vehicles.
Dr. Kim received her Bachelors degree in the field of Electrical and Computer Engineering from Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering and her Master of Science (M.S.) degree in the same field from University of Illinois. Her PhD was done with Prof. Philip Krein in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaigh, USA.
