Core[dot]Today Inc., a faculty startup from UNIST, is proud to announce its participation in the upcoming Ulsan International Art Fair (UIAF), scheduled to take place from October 19 to 22, 2023.
The exhibition will be hosted at the Ulsan Exhibition & Convention Center (UECO), specifically in booths C10 and D08. It will showcase two captivating installations that explore the intersection of art and technology. These installations also delve into the intriguing relationship between humans and artificial intelligence (AI) through modern art experiences. The first installation, ‘Discussing Art: Human vs. AI‘ will delve into thought-provoking conversations between humans and AI, blurring the lines between human creativity and AI capabilities. The second installation, ‘AI Perfumery Centria,‘ will demonstrate how AI can be harnessed to create unique scents and evoke sensory experiences through the medium of perfumery. These installations aim to foster dialogue and encourage visitors to contemplate the evolving relationship between art and technology.
In the ‘Discussing Art: Human vs. AI‘ installation, visitors will witness a thought-provoking dialogue between virtual AI human beings, ComJae Kim and JinJoo Lee, developed by Core[dot]Today Inc. This dialogue, led by modern artist Seong-Deok Park, will offer unique perspectives on interpreting the meaning of artworks from both human and AI standpoints. This interactive experience aims to spark new conversations about art and its relationship with technology.
For the ‘AI Perfumery Centria,’ visitors will have the opportunity to create their own personalized fragrance inspired by the art fair. Based on the art pieces selected by visitors, AI will infer their tastes, and Perfumery Min Kyeung Kim will skillfully blend scents according to AI’s recipe. This immersive experience will enhance participants’ enjoyment of the art fair works, as they follow the designated route map accompanied by the fragrances.
“We are excited to showcase how technology can contribute to the world of art through this event, breaking the boundaries between AI and art,” said KyungHoon Kim, CEO of Core[dot]Today Inc. As the science fiction writer William Gibson famously said, “The future is already here, it’s just not evenly distributed,” our aim is to bring the future of the art world to the present and share it with the audience.
