On September 3, the first cohort of the ‘Busan AX CEO Program‘ was officially inaugurated at Centum City, Busan. A total of 43 executives from 39 companies participated in the industry-focused, practical training series held weekly on Wednesdays until November 19th at the Centum Campus of Dongseo University.
Designed specifically for business leaders in Busan’s small and mid-sized enterprises, the program aims to bridge AI technology and strategic decision-making. Its curriculum emphasizes real-world case studies, latest AI trends, and industry-specific application strategies, empowering participants to lead digital transformation initiatives within their organizations.
Director Namhun Kim of the Pioneers Campus, welcomed attendees and introduced the program’s objectives. He highlighted UNIST’s extensive experience in successful AI training programs, including the ‘AI Novatus Academy’ and previous CEO courses, which have already delivered measurable benefits such as cost savings and quality improvements for participating companies.

President Chong Rae Park of UNIST remarked, “AI is no longer a matter of choice but a vital strategic tool for corporate survival. Through this program, we aim to deepen the understanding of AI’s core principles among Busan’s business leaders and enable them to incorporate these insights into their strategic planning.”
A representative from the Busan R&D Special Zone also expressed strong support, emphasizing that this program represents a valuable opportunity for regional companies to enhance their AI and digital transformation capabilities. They further pledged policy backing to ensure the practical application of the gains from this initiative.
