The inaugural meeting of the UNIST Development Foundation was successfully concluded in the main conference room of UNIST’s Main Administration Building on Wednesday, May 12, 2021. On this day, nine promoters, including UNIST President Yong Hoon Lee, attended and passed six agendas, including the establishment purpose of UNIST Development Foundation.
The UNIST Development Foundation will secure endowment funds to help fuel UNIST’s future growth engines and contribute to community development and social well-being, for instance, by developing customized technologies for regions and countries.
The key to this is to operate successful endowment fundraising programs, which include but are not limited to “UNIST Vision Fund” and “Scholarship, Research, and Infrastructure Funds” to accomplish UNIST’s vision. The foundation plans to complete the registration of its establishment in May and begin recruiting participants for its first project, “UNIST-Sponsored House.”
The establishment of UNIST Development Foundation is one of the projects that President Lee has emphasized since taking office. This is because UNIST Development Foundation is essential for UNIST to prepare for growth in the next decade. To this end, he has invited several businessmen of eminence in Southeastern region, as invited executives over the past eight months, and thus has envisioned various fundraising and community projects.
