The Ceremony of signing the MoU between UNIST and Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) was held in Russia on November 30, 2014.
The documents were signed by Moo Je Cho, President of UNIST and Sergey Ivanets, President of FEFU during President Cho’s stay in Vladivostok for the 2nd Russian Forum of Rectors of the leading universities of Russia and Korea.
Prior to the signing of MoU, both parties discussed and agreed on some possible collaborative activities, such as student and teacher exchanges, staff conferences, and cultural programs. In addition, the creation of joint academic and research projects and the cooperation in the field of education’s internationalization have been discussed. Through these activities, UNIST and FEFU hope to actively develop their relationships in the educational and research activity.
FEFU is a higher educational institution in the Russian Far East that offers first-class education and outstanding research results. Established in 1899, FEFU strives to foster integration of the Russian Far East into the Pacific Rim through education, research, and high-tech development.
“With its large scale oil storage and port facilities, Ulsan has become the prime location for a new Northeast Asian energy hub, as well as one of the four petroleum logistics hubs in the world. This MOU agreement between UNIST and FEFU will play a pivotal role in implementing the Northeast Oil Hub Project,” says Moo Je Cho.
