The UNIST Piano Club ‘Pianista’ brought a touch of warmth akin to the sun on a spring day as they visited Hyejinwon, a social welfare facility located in Ulju-gun, Ulsan, on May 3 to share the gift of music in celebration of Family Month.
The event was thoughtfully organized for the children and disabled residents of the center. Established in 2001, Hyejinwon serves as a haven for individuals with severe disabilities, currently catering to around 40 students.
The members of Pianista wholeheartedly dedicated their time and talent to provide a musical experience for the children of Hyejinwon. The diverse repertoire showcased by the club ranged from classical pieces to popular tunes, aiming to offer a broad spectrum of musical joy.
Director Tae Baek Kim of Hyejinwon, expressed deep gratitude to the students of the UNIST piano club for orchestrating such a wonderful concert. He emphasized that this special performance would undoubtedly bring great happiness and unforgettable memories to the residents.
“We are delighted to spread a sense of warmth and hope through music to those around us,” shared Professor Inkyoung Lee at the UNIST School of Liberal Arts, who oversees Pianista. “Our goal is to continue engaging in meaningful activities like this in the future.”
UNIST is committed to engage in various social contribution initiatives to foster harmony with the local community, with Hyejinwon benefitting from these bonds of empathy and support.
Looking forward, UNIST aims to enhance communication channels to positively impact the local community through a variety of cultural events and social responsibility programs.
