On June 11, UNIST signed a “Industry-Academy” cooperation MoU with NOROO Holdings Co. Ltd. to pledge mutual support for one another in the pursuit of excellence in the following areas: academic excellence, professional skills, personal values, and social concern.
During the course of the event, UNIST also received a gift of 30 million KRW from NOROO Holdings.
“We have been paying attention to UNIST’s seemingly rapid success,” says President Young-jae Han of NOROO Holdings. “And we wanted to make a contribution to help UNIST achieve its goals.”
The MoU ceremony was followed by the commemorative tree planting ceremony to acknowledge and thank the development fund by NOROO Holdings. The ceremony took place near the Business Administration Building at UNIST.
NOROO Holdings Co., Ltd., having established itself in the paint and ink market under the Noroo brand name in 1945, was separated on June 1, 2006 into two divisions: NOROO Holdings, as an investment business division and Noroo Paint Co., Ltd., as a manufacturing and sales company. The Holdings company specializes in investment business including ownership of Noroo Paint, this enables the manufacturing and sales company to concentrate independently on its original business.
