UNIST Admissions today announced that they received a record number of applications for admission to the Class of 2020. When the early admission for 2015 ended on Tuesday, September 15th, records showed that we reached well above our quota of 366, with a competition rate of 9.38 to 1 and 3,432 applicants.
The department that showed the highest competition rate was the school of engineering with 9.78 to 1. The school of business administration also showed a high competition rate of 6.13 to 1. Moreover, for the Fall 2015 International Admission, about 400 students from 27 different countries applied. This was 75 more than the number of applicants from the previous year.
“We are thrilled by the size of the increase in the number of applications,” says Prof. Hyug Moo Kwon, Dean of Admissions and Student Affairs at UNIST. He continues by saying,
All the selection processes will be done through document screening. The screening result of the submitted applications will be notified by the Admissions Office of UNIST to each applicant on October 22, 2015.
Those who successfully pass the initial documentary screening will be invited for an interview. The schedules and dates for interviews will be informed once they receive the notification from the results of their document screening. Final acceptance notification is scheduled on November 13, 2015.
