UNIST is excited to announce the launch of the ‘UNIST AI Image Generation Contest,’ an initiative dedicated to capturing the innovative achievements of the university through the lens of AI-generated imagery. This contest invites participants to explore the vast potential of AI technology while visually representing UNIST’s groundbreaking research.
Individuals interested in participating can register via Google Form (https://forms.gle/bvWYoNETsqEBXiYK7) until September 30, 2024.
Organized by the UNIST Public Relations Team, the contest aims to vividly illustrate UNIST’s cutting-edge research and technologies using AI-generated images. This unique opportunity merges the worlds of technology and art, allowing participants to create innovative media content that reflects various accomplishments associated with UNIST.
Participants can choose from three categories: ‘University Publicity,’ ‘Research Breakthroughs,’ or ‘Open Entry’ to creatively depict UNIST-related themes. All entries must be produced at a resolution greater than 1024px in both width and height, and participants are encouraged to utilize multiple AI programs in their submissions.
The contest runs from September 1 to September 30, with the evaluation period taking place from October 1 to October 8, 2024. Entries will be judged based on several criteria: workability (25%), originality (25%), usability (30%), and popularity (20%), with the latter determined through online voting.
Prizes include a grand prize of 1,000,000 KRW for one winner, 300,000 KRW for each of five excellence prize winners, and 100,000 KRW for twenty incentive prize recipients. Winners will be announced individually on Friday, October 11, 2024.
Selected outstanding works will be considered for use as UNIST promotional materials, further showcasing the exciting intersection of AI and art. However, please note that the number of award-winning entries may be adjusted, or there may be no award winners, depending on the review outcomes. Additionally, the copyright for all winning entries will reside with UNIST.
Dean Young-Bin Park from the Office of Public Relations and International Affairs at UNIST, remarked, “This contest provides an excellent opportunity to demonstrate how the fusion of AI and art can transform our lives and redefine artistic expression.” He encourages widespread participation and interest in this innovative endeavor.
