On January 8, the revised bill of law for UNIST to become a government-funded Science and Technology research institute has passed the Science, ICT, Future Planning, Broadcasting and Communications Committee of the National Assembly.
The bill will now be put to the plenary session of the national congress in February for final approval.
Once the bill passes, UNIST will be reborn again as one of government-funded Science and Technology research Institutes of Korea.
President Moo Je Cho states, “We look forward to and deeply appreciate your ongoing support in our efforts to provide an unparalleled educational experience for our students and all members of UNIST.”
UNIST is preparing to tackle the next 15 years in order to be ranked within the world’s top 10 science and technology institutions. In turn, we encourage all members at UNIST to promise to journey into the new 15 years with even more enthusiasm and hard work, so we can open up the new future for society.
