The Water-Environmental Informatics Lab (WEIL), led by Professor Kyung Hwa Cho in the Department of Urban and Environmental Engineering at UNIST has been selected as the 2022 Healthy Lab.
Professor Cho’s research team was presented with a healthy lab certificate plaque along with the award, and a reward of KRW 10 million in prize money. The award presentation ceremony took place concurrent with the opening ceremony of the 2022 Korea Science Technology & Fair, held at KINTEX in Ilsan on December 15, 2022.
The Healthy Lab is a project promoted by the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) since 2020 to spread a healthy laboratory culture. The purpose is to share and spread best practices of healthy laboratories by selecting and supporting laboratories with excellent laboratory culture, research management, and research results. This year, 55 laboratories were received, and 10 laboratories, including Professor Cho’s research team, were selected.
Meanwhile, Professor Cho has also recently been honored with an excellence award for this year’s Doosan Yonkang Academic Award for the Environment. He was was presented with an award plaque and KRW 10 million in prize money at the award ceremony, held in Jeju on November 9, 2022.
