The 9th Creative Design-Engineering Competition, a two-day event organized by the UNIST Department of Design, is all set to be held from January 4 to 5, 2023. Any college student interested in the convergence of design and engineering can participate. The application deadline ends on December 25, 2022.
This competition will be held under the theme of ‘Designing A Digital Coaching Service for Successful Campus Life.’ The purpose of this competition is to come up with a service design to help university students adjust to campus life, which includes but not limited to students’ aptitude, academic performance, and career path.
For those students who wish to participate, may visit the homepage of UNIST’s Design Department (design.unist.ac.kr/ko) or use the QR registration code on the poster. To be eligible, students must be in their second year of university or higher. About 24 students will be selected to participate in the actual competition.

Three outstanding teams will be awarded. Each award-winning team will be given privileges when applying to the UNIST Graduate School of Design-Engineering Convergence. There is no participation fee, yet each participant is responsible for their own travel expenses. Certificates and souvenirs will be also provided to all participants after the competition.
For those who are interested in the convergence of design and engineering, the competition will also feature other programs, including the creative design workshop, mentoring programs for the purpose of career development, as well as hands-on education experience for UNIST Design Engineering Convergence Program.
Meanwhile, UNIST’s Design Department conducts education and research to develop creative products and systems that will change future life through multidisciplinary convergence of design and engineering technology. Marking the 9th anniversary of its foundation this year, the Creative Design Engineering Competition aims to provide mentoring services for students who are interested in the convergence of design and engineering and help them map out their future.
