The UNIST Environmental Analysis Center (UEAC) at the UNIST Research Support Center (UCRF) has been accredited as an internationally renowned testing institute specializing in the chemical-water quality sector by the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS) under the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards.
KOLAS, operating under the Korean Agency for Technology and Standards (KATS) within the Ministry of Trade, Industry, and Energy (MOTIE), uses a comprehensive accreditation system to evaluate the equipment, testing capabilities and facility environment of a domestic testing institutions to assess the applicant’s conformity with international standards.
UEAC now stands as a symbol of international credibility and aims to further enhance its expertise in analysis to support various industries including environment, chemicals, new materials, and energy.
“We are committed to advancing the competitiveness of test analysis across various sectors following our accreditation by KOLAS in the chemical-water quality domain,” noted Professor Kwanyong Seo, Director of UCRF.
Moreover, UCRF boasts an impressive array of equipment and skilled professionals in South Korea. With over 6,000 research instruments utilized by 220 institutions nationwide, UEAC obtained recognition as a specialized institution for measuring and analyzing persistent pollutants from the National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER) under the Ministry of Environment back in 2014.
