UNIST has entered into a partnership with the Ulsan Information Industry Promotion Agency (UIPA) to support the growth of deep-tech–based content startups in the region.
The agreement aims to combine UNIST’s research and startup expertise with UIPA’s industry network to strengthen technology validation, commercialization, and market entry for emerging companies.
The partnership will focus on identifying high-potential startups, launching joint research and business development projects, and supporting on-site technology testing and market verification. The two organizations will also build cooperative networks to help young companies scale their operations.
By linking technological innovation with content industry expertise, the collaboration is expected to expand growth opportunities for regional startups and improve their global competitiveness.
Director Youngsik Kim of the UNIST Office of University–Industry Cooperation, said, “This partnership creates a strong bridge between advanced research and industry demand. We will continue to support deep-tech startups as they grow into key drivers of regional innovation.”
A UIPA representative added, “Integrating cutting-edge technology with creative content will help diversify Ulsan’s industrial base. Working with UNIST, we aim to foster new business models and support sustainable growth.”
Through this agreement, UNIST and UIPA plan to reinforce the region’s deep-tech ecosystem and help local companies expand into international markets.
