UNIST Child Education Center is spreading the holiday cheer with charity donations.
On October 31, UNIST Child Education Center visited the Ulsan Community Chest of Korea’s headquater to deliver a KRW 300,000 donation to offer help and support to the needy in Ulsan. Along with this, they made another KRW 300,000 donation towards the Development Fund of UNIST.
The proceeds of the donations were raised through a fleamarket, held at UNIST on Saturday, October 19, 2019. This fundrasing event was designed to provide an opportunity for parents to bring their gently-used toys, clothes, and books to share out at UNIST Child Education Center.
About 260 people participated in this year’s flea market, including staffs and families of UNIST Child Education Center, as well as local residents in Ulsan. In addition to flea market booths selling donated goods, there were various other events for children, such as face painting, bracelet making, and parrot experiences.
“May our small act can make a big impact to those in need,” says Director JeongSun Ahn of UNIST Child Education Center, who attended the donation giving ceremony. “We will continue our support by donating.”
“Thank you for your generousity and support,” says Manager WonKyung Lee from Fundraising Team of the Ulsan Community Chest of Korea. “Your generous donation will go a long way in helping us to make a big impact to those in need.”
