On June 3, the School of Design and Human Engineering (DHE) and the Graduate School of Creative Design Engineering (CDE) at UNIST signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kumyoung Entertainment Co., Ltd. to forge ahead toward achieving excellence within the future of media and entertainment industry.
In the memorandum of understanding, the two organizations have promised to work together for the development of future entertainment goods and services through active industrial-academic collaboration. This includes achieving mutual prosperity by uniting each other’s excellent physical, human, and infrastructure resources.
Under this partnership, the two organizations have pledged cooperation on joint R&D projects for the design and development of future products, interaction design, user experience (UX) design, and service design based on the spread of emotions that show pleasure. The resulting products are expected to be promoted as a new business item of KY Entertainment, leading to new product innovation.
To this end, the two organizations agreed to reinforce their cooperation, such as joint use of research equipment and facilities and the exchange of technology information, human resource, and specialized competencies. In addition to this, they will expand cooperation for collaborative R&D project within the fields of hardware, software, emotional design, interaction design, and related areas with the aim of developing new device products over the next three years.
The ceremony has been attended by President Jin Gab Kim and key officials from KY Entertainment Co. Ltd., Professor Sung Phil Kim (Dean of DHE), Professor Yunwoo Jeong, Professor Hwang Kim, Professor Hui Sung Lee, Professor Kyungho Lee, and Professor Dongil Chung.
