UNIST has launched the fifth cohort of its Semiconductor AI Leadership Program, an executive education initiative designed to equip industry professionals with advanced AI capabilities for the semiconductor materials, components, and equipment sectors.
On March 12, the UNIST Graduate School of Semiconductor Materials and Devices Engineering held the matriculation, attended by approximately 30 participants, including incoming students, alumni representatives, and distinguished guests. Among them were Dean Yong Hwan Kim of the College of Engineering at UNIST, and Jun-ki Hwang, Second Vice Mayor of Yongin Special City, who joined in marking the start of the new cohort.
Established in 2023 as part of a strategic partnership between UNIST and Yongin Special City, the program supports the development of a semiconductor education and industry–academia collaboration hub, providing a structured platform for executives and researchers to integrate AI into semiconductor technologies and industrial practice.
The fifth cohort includes 10 participants from semiconductor-related companies and research institutions, including TCK Co., Ltd., Wonik IPS Co., Ltd., H Global Co., Ltd., and Sinsung ENG Co., Ltd. The 14-week program will run through June, with weekly sessions held at the ‘UNIST–Yongin Hub for Semiconductor Education and Industry Collaboration,’ located within the Yongin City Hall.
Since its inception, the program has established collaborative ties with approximately 32 companies in the semiconductor materials, components, and equipment sectors. Building on this foundation, UNIST plans to further expand industry–academia research partnerships in collaboration with Yongin Special City.
