UNIST has received a generous donation of 18 million KRW from NH Investment & Securities Co., Ltd. to support its ‘One-Thousand-Won Breakfast‘ project. This initiative aims to boost student well-beings, foster regional cooperation, and promote sustainable social values.
Launched in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs of the Republic of Korea (MAFRA) and the Ulsan Metropolitan City, the ‘One-Thousand-Won Breakfast‘ project enables students to enjoy nutritious, balanced meals for just 1,000 KRW. The program also encourages the consumption of domestically produced rice, enhances youth welfare, and stimulates local agricultural markets.
The donated funds will be dedicated to the weekly ‘One-Thousand-Won Special Breakfast (NH Brunch Day),’ held every Thursdays during the second semester. These special meals feature health-conscious menus rich in protein and vegetables, receiving enthusiastic responses from students. The first event, held on October 2, saw over 300 students participating —more than 100 additional attendees compared to usual.

A representative from the General Affairs Team commented, “The ‘One-Thousand-Won Breakfast‘ project supports the everyday health and academic focus of our students.” He further added, “Thanks to NH Investment & Securities Co., Ltd., we can further expand campus welfare initiatives in partnership with the local community.”
Since 2023, UNIST has been officially designated as a partner university for the ‘One-Thousand-Won Breakfast‘ project by MAFRA, reaffirming its commitment to student health and regional development.
