UNIST has been honored to receive a rating of ‘Excellent’ in the Public-service Customer Satisfaction Survey for 2020, organized by the Korean Ministry of Strategy and Finance.
The ‘Public-service Customer Satisfaction Survey‘ is an essential method of measuring the quality of customer satisfaction for public institutions. The 2020 assessment was carried out through a telephone survey and evaluated a total of 243 public institutions for the period from November 30, 2020, to February 28, 2021.
This year, only those organizations that either maintained or enhanced customer satisfaction levels were given an excellent rating. A total of 39 public institutions, including UNIST, were given this honor. In addition to this, 82 organizations were rated as average, while 75 were given a poor rating. Besides, 47 were excluded from the evaluation.
UNIST has been evaluated for the following criteria: △ Operation of Degree Programs, △ External Education, △ Government/Private-entrusted Research, △ Technology, Research, Exam, and Startup Support. The 2020 results showed significant improvements in all areas, compared to the previous assessment in 2019. Besides, UNIST is the only institution amongst Korea’s four institutes of science and technology (KAIST, GIST, DGIST, UNIST) to receive an excellent rating in this year’s Public-service Customer Satisfaction Survey.
Meanwhile, UNIST climbed to 3rd position, up two places from its ranking last year, according to the 2020 Integrity Assessment for National Universities in Korea, carried out by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.
This integrity assessment of anti-corruption has been conducted among university members, including faculty, instructors, researchers, teaching assistants, and Ph.D. students to evaluate the performance of each organization in the following areas: △ Contract, △ Research, △ Administration, △ Organizational Culture. The 2020 results showed that UNIST maintained 3rd position in the field of contract for two consecutive years. UNIST also made a climb of two spots from last year in all other three areas, thereby obtaining 3rd level for overall integrity.
