As a celebration of recognizing the outstanding performance and dedication of its employees, UNIST held an awards presentation ceremony on May 3, 2022. This was to congratulate and encourage those individuals who have recently been selected as the recipients of the Commendation Awards from the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Ministry of Education.
Seven outstanding employees were awarded and given due recognition for their exemplary work performance in various fields, including COVID-19 quarantine, anti-corruption, higher education statistics, research ethics, and institutional management. The recipients of the award include ChangSig Kang (General Affairs Team), Young-ho Shin (General Affairs Team), InHyouk Son (General Affairs Team), Youngseung Kwon (Academic Affairs Team), Sookyung Ryu (Research Planning Team), Jeongmin Jeon (Management Strategy Team), and Sangmin Park (Planning Team).
■ Three General Affairs Team Members Awarded Commendation Awards from MSIT in Recognition of Contributions Related to COVID-19 Prevention and Corruption Prevention
Team Leader ChangSig Kang and Young-ho Shin from the General Affairs Team at UNIST have been given the Commendation Awards from the Ministry of Science and ICT. They were recognized for maintaining a safe campus in response to the detection of COVID-19 within the UNIST community.
InHyouk Son from the General Affairs Team was awarded a commendation from the Chairman of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission in celebration of the 10th ‘Anti-Corruption & Civil Rights Day’ on February 25, 2021. He was given this award in recognition of receiving Grade 1, in the 2021 Anti-Corruption Initiative Assessment. UNIST was the only national and public university in Korea that was classed as an exemplary organization.
■ Two Employees Awarded Commendation Awards from Ministry of Education … Youngseung Kwon (Higher Education Statistics) Sookyung Ryu (Research Ethics)
Youngseung Kwon from Academic Affairs Team has been awarded the Commendation Award from the Ministry of Education on December 31, 2021. He has been given the award in recognition of his contributions to improving the systematic and stable management of data in higher education faculty statistics data.
On the same day, Sookyung Ryu from Research Planning Team was also given the award in recognition of her contributions to establishing UNIST’s research ethics. In particular, she was acknowledged for laying he institutional foundation for a research institution by reorganizing research ethics regulations, establishing policies to prevent research irregularities, and verifying research integrity.
■ Two Employees Awarded Commendation Awards from MSIT … Jeongmin Jeon (Management Strategy Team) and Sangmin Park (Planning Team)
Both Jeongmin Jeon (Management Strategy Team) and Sangmin Park (Planning Team) have been given the Commendation Awards from the Ministry of Science and ICT in recognition of their contributions to UNIST’s innovation in science and technology. In particular, Jeongmin Jeon was given the award for managing UNIST to achieve organizational performance excellence.
