On January 12, the AI Innovation Park of UNIST held an official launching ceremony cum briefing session to attract participating companies in Ulsan and Southeast regions that will work together to foster the innovation in AI. In response to the COVID-19 outbreak and in light of health and safety, the event was carried out virtually and in real-time.
The briefing session has been attended by a number of officials from public institutions and regional research institutions, which includes 300 companies that have already expressed their intention to cooperate with the UNIST Graduate School of Artificial Intelligence and 100 other UNIST family companies.
The briefing session provided an introduction to major business projects that are promoted by the AI Innovation Park, as well as explained the methods to participate in these projects.
It began with greetings from Director Dong Sub Kim of AI Innovaion Park and was followed by a general overview of the business by Executive Secretary Gyeong Won Kim (Department of Industrial Engineering, UNIST). The introduction to the AI Novatus Academia for the education of industrial engineers was given by Director Taeseok Jeong (Department of Industrial Engineering, UNIST) of the Institute for the 4th Industrial Revolution.
The introduction to the projects for supporing the industry–academia cooperation was given by SangHo Jeon (Industry Innovation Team, UNIST). Along with this, MyeongHo Choi (Integrated Administrative Support Team, UNIST) briefly explained the matters related to the recruitment of companies and organizations that will make their homes at the Industry-University Convergence Campus. It concluded with a Q&A session.
