UNIST will begin recruiting new students for the 2022 admissions cycle. This year, the university will admit a total of 440 students through early admission, including 430 students via early admission and 10 through regular admission. By category, 410 students will be selected in science and engineering, and 30 in business administration.
The application period for early admission runs from September 10 to September 14, 2021. During this time, applications will be accepted for the general admission track, special talent track, regional talent track, and equal opportunity track.
Early admission assessments will be conducted based on either document review alone, or a combination of document review and interview. Selection for general admission, regional talent, and equal opportunity tracks will be based solely on document screening, while the special talent track will weigh document screening (60%) and interview performance (40%).
Unlike in previous years, the 2022 early admission process will place greater emphasis on document screening. In addition, recommendation letters have been eliminated across all tracks, making the application process more accessible to all applicants.
Meanwhile, the application period for the newly established regular admission track, which targets students with high scores on the national college entrance exam, will begin on December 30, 2021, and close on January 3, 2022.
