The rowers from colleges and universities across the nation, including UNIST were set to gather and compete at the 2nd Changwon City Rowing Competition on April 8, 2018. The competition, which took place at the Republic of Korea Naval Academy (ROKNA) in Changwon Okpo Bay, consisted of many events, including the indoor ergometer race, outdoor knuckle four races, individual races, united team races, and more.
Derowing, the UNIST rowing club has announced on Sunday that it has won all the races they have competed in. During the course of the event, the team has earned 7 gold, 5 silver, and 2 bronze medals at both the indoor and outdoor races.
“I am extremely proud of our team members and what they have accomplished in this competition,” says Jae Hyeok Jang in the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Nuclear Engineering.
The UNIST Rowing Club is a registered club sport, affiliated with UNIST. The club consists of students, faculty and staff who love to row, have fun, and get some fantastic exercise. The club was formed in 2013 and currently has 74 members, including 20 faculty members. The club boasts 5 racing boats and 1 rescue boat. The primary objectives of the club are to foster and promote the sport of rowing at all levels.
