The Industry-University Convergence Campus, which has opened its doors in February of this year, seeks public input on its new name through a contest.
The Naming Contest for the Industry-University Convergence Campus is scheduled to be open until Sunday, June 3, 2018. Participation in this event is limited to the members of the UNIST community.
The Industry-University Convergence Campus has some criteria for its new name. The newly-suggested names must be unique, easily recognizable, and represent the fundamental characteristics of UNIST. Those who are interested in participating in the contest may click HERE to make suggestions online.
Through online survey, participants will be asked to identify their affiliation with the university, then suggest possible names for the new campus (both in Korean and English) and explain their reasoning on why their suggestions perfectly embody the identity of UNIST. The winning names will be selected based on originality, creativity, uniqueness, and interpretation of the name through our screening process.
The screening period for the naming competition starts from Monday, June 4th to Friday, June 8th, 2018. The top five winning names will be revealed on June 12, 2018. The winners will receive up to 1.9 million KRW in cash prizes (800,000 KRW for 1st, 500,000 KRW for 2nd, 300,000 KRW for 3rd, 200,000 KRW for 4th, and 100,000 KRW for 5th place).
Meanwhile, the new Industry-University Convergence Campus is located in the Ulsan Industry-University Convergence District in Duwang-dong, Nam-gu, Ulsan. The new four-story, 9,109-square-meter building features research laboratories, lecture rooms, a prototype manufacturing space, as well as a corporate information analysis room.
