On June 5, the Kyungdong Scholarship Foundation held the ‘2024 Kyungdong Overseas Exchange Scholarship Awards Presentation Ceremony‘ to recognize and reward students who have displayed outstanding academic achievement.
Seven students, including TaeYeong Kang from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, were awarded the scholarship certificates. They will be studying at four universities during the upcoming fall semester, such as the National Institute of Applied Sciences of Toulouse in France, the University of Applied Sciences Technikum Wien in Austria, the Constructor University in Germany, and Chiba University in Japan. The Kyungdong Scholarship Foundation will provide scholarships worth 8 million won per person, totaling 56 million won.
During the ceremony, the accomplishments of the 2023 overseas exchange scholarship students were also highlighted. The seven scholarship students from 2023 shared their research activities, classes, and cultural experiences abroad to inspire their fellow peers, thanks to the support of the Kyungdong Scholarship Foundation.
In particular, KeonMo Lee, a student from the Department of Industrial Engineering, stated, “I used to think that my worldview would naturally expand as I grew older. However, through this overseas training program, I realized that my perspective actually broadens as much as I am exposed to new experiences.”
Chairman Yong Hoon Lee emphasized, “The scholarships provided by the Kyungdong Scholarship Foundation are the most generous among those supporting overseas exchange programs. I wholeheartedly congratulate the scholarship recipients and wish them a valuable experience in a global research environment during their time abroad.”
Following the distribution of scholarship certificates and the presentation of activity results, the meeting continued. Participants openly shared their reflections on the program and their aspirations for the future. JiYoon Lim from the Department of Biomedical Engineering, one of this year’s scholarship recipients, expressed determination and ambition, stating, “Thanks to the Kyungdong Scholarship, I plan to actively engage in cultural activities in various countries and enjoy a fulfilling experience that contributes to my academic growth.”
