On the afternoon of May 20th, 2016 local experts from academia and industry organizations convened at UNIST for the 2016 3D Printing Convergence Symposium.
The symposium was attended by scholars and experts from 3D Factory Co. Ltd., Ulsan Center for Creative Economy & Innovation (UCCEI), Institute of Ulsan Culture Industry (IUCI), University of Ulsan, and Rural Development Administration.
The symposium featured a host of presentations on the current use and the future applications of 3D printing. It aims to foster 3D printing industry, thereby enhancing the local competitiveness.
During the course of the event, President Jong Jin Kang of IUCI delievered a speech on “Promotion of Cultural Content Industries via 3D Printing Technology”. Dr. SangCheol Kim of Rural Development Administration presented on “Utilization and Prospect of 3D Printing in the Agricultural Sector”. Prof. JongMyeon Kim of University of Ulsan talked about “3D Printing Technologies for Manufacturing Specialized Bearings”.
Prof. Joon Sang Baek (School of Design and Human Engineering), the symposium organizer states, “We hope that this forum will provide a networking hub where participants can make known their organization, promote specific project, and exchange new business ideas.” He continues, “We plan on enhancing the local competitiveness through 3D printing”.
