In the morning of May 4th, UNIST invited the residents of Buk-gu, the northmost district of Ulsan to attend a community information session to learn more about the official launch of UNIST, as a government-funded research institute.
The event consists of a student-guided campus tour, including a visit to UNIST Museum, UNIST Central Research Facilities (UCRF), and a look at several academic facilities. The tour was followed by a greeting of gratitude by KyeongSeo Doo, the student president on behalf of the UNIST Student Body.
By inviting the residents of Buk-gu to a community information session, UNIST hoped to ensure that the current capabilities and future directions of UNIST are being heard and understood by the Buk-gu community.
KyeongSeo Doo states “We are thankful for the city of Ulsan for their endless support and interest in building UNIST, a world-class university specialized in science and technology.” He adds, “In return for their constant support, we’ll continue to do our best.”
This information session has been inviting the citizens of Ulsan, including residents of Jung-gu and Nam-gu Districts, as well as Ulju-gun. UNIST hopes to extend this invitation to the rest of the city.
