UNIST has organized a series of public lectures on selected topics in science and technology in an effort to foster innovation in S&T education. These public lectures not only promote UNIST’s excellent research and teaching but also provide opportunities for the wider community to come and experience academia.
The UNIST Innovative Education Center is currently looking for in-person participants for the ‘2022 One-Day Lecture‘ series. This series of lectures is open to anyone interested in the subject. However, those who wish to attend must first register via the website of UNIST Innovative Education Center since each course has limited spaces for students, a maximum of 20 seats. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and opens until December 27, 2021.
To register, applicants must download the application form from the website and email the completed form to icood@unist.ac.kr. There are four lectures in the series, you can register for each individually HERE.
The series consists of one intensive 1-week course and three separate 4-week courses. The first 1-week course on ‘Photodynamic Therapy’ will be taught by Professor Tae-Hyuk Kwon from the Department of Chemistry. The lecture, which deals with research on cancer treatment that uses light energy will run for four days from January 10 to 14, 2022.
There are three separate 4-week courses. The first course on ‘Software Hacking and Defense‘ will be taught by Professor Yuseok Jeon from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The second session will be taught by Professor Chang-Yeol Jung from the Department of Mathematical Sciences under the topic of ‘Design and Production of Data-driven Machine Learning‘. The last 4-week session will be delivered by Professor Sang Jin Kweon from the Department of Industrial Engineering under the topic of ‘Dynamic Programming and Social Entrepreneurship Issues’.
Each course consists of both theoretical and practical education to trigger participants’ interest and help them understand the subject better. Detailed information for each lecture can be found on the website of UNIST Innovative Education Center.
