A heated discussion on the future of smart transportation will be held in Ulsan.
The 2018 Smart Transportation Innovation Global Workshop is scheduled to be held in the Main Administration Building of UNIST on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, inviting attendees from our academic, city, industry and community partners.
The goal of this workshop is to formally expand new strategic international partnerships between Ulsan City partners, R&D partners, commercialization partners and industry partners. This event will consist of multiple talks and panels, focused on solving real problems related to the future of smart transportation. The event will conclude with a planning session to provide a roadmap for innovation and collaboration between STIP partners.
In February 2018, UNIST signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of California San Diego, the City of San Diego, and Ulsan Metropolitan City to jointly support scientific research and commercialization of smart transportation technologies and systems. The four organizations have agreed to formalize the promotion of the Smart Transportation Innovation Program, also known as STIP. Since then, both cities and universities have been making joint efforts for the realization of smart transport technologies, such as automated driving.
“This workshop is designed to provide a knowledge sharing platform for experts from both near and far to share their knowledge and the information needed to establish technological trends, industry outlook, and effective response strategies,” says President Mooyoung Jung of UNIST. “It is my hope that everyone who attends this workshop will have the opportunity to gain actionable information and create new networks for collaboration.”
