Jong Hee Lim, Head of the Information Strategy Team at UNIST, has been honored with a commendation from the Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) in recognition of his contributions to advancing information security. The award was presented by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Science and ICT on December 18, 2025.
The commendation acknowledges his leadership in strengthening the security of UNIST’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) integrated information system, significantly enhancing system stability and institutional trustworthiness through a systematic and sustained approach.
Under his direction, UNIST fundamentally improved the operation of its ERP system by progressively elevating security standards and establishing a more stable and reliable operating environment. These efforts went beyond incremental adjustments, focusing instead on long-term structural improvements to information security practices.
Security enhancements were implemented across the entire technical framework. UNIST conducted a comprehensive review of the ERP system’s architecture and underlying technologies, reinforcing security measures in stages and, in the process, strengthening both the structural and technical foundations of its IT security capabilities.
Notably, the initiative extended beyond administrative controls. Information security considerations were embedded throughout the full lifecycle of the ERP system—from design and implementation to daily operation—demonstrating an IT-driven model in which security is built directly into the system rather than applied as a separate layer.
“This commendation reflects the continued efforts to improve the system architecture and operating environment to ensure the stable operation of our ERP platform,” said Jong Hee Lim. “It would not have been possible without the close cooperation of the Information Strategy Team, the Information Security Team, and related departments, including the General Affairs Office.”
