UNIST welcomed the Class of 2027 on February 20, 2023, with a traditional ceremony for all new undergraduate first-year, transfer, and exchange students.
New Student Orientation has been designed to introduce the wide array of academic, intellectual, leadership, cultural, and social experiences available at UNIST. This is a four-day event, featuring welcome activities, community building exercises, and presentations on student success and campus safety.
This year’s student orientation was held fully in-person for first time in four years from February 20 to 23, 2023. It has been attended by 124 currently enrolled students and 444 newly-admitted students.
It started out with a special lecture on mental health by Professor Dooyoung Jung, Director of UNIST Healthcare Center. Various other programs were also held, including special lectures on preventing sexual harassment and violence in schools, as well as safety training.
During the course of the event, students also had opportunities to meet with staffs and faculty members of UNIST, and connect with other newly-admitted students. The ceremony also featured other programs, such as Honor Code oath, campus match, recreational outing activities, and group activities to encourage student engagement.
