UNIST has been awarded the Ministry of Education Commendation for Distinguished Contribution to Career Education, recognizing its contribution to expanding career exploration opportunities for youth in local communities.
This award acknowledges UNIST’s work in narrowing regional disparities in career education by applying its university-level education and research resources to hands-on, community-based programs. In particular, UNIST was cited for producing tangible results through partnerships that support practical career exploration.
The recognition is based on the successful operation of the ‘University-Linked Mobile Career Exploration Project,’ overseen by Professor Min Chung Kim of the School of Business Administration as project director. Organized by the Korea Foundation for Science and Creativity, the initiative was recognized for bringing university-level career education directly into local communities.
The program emphasized experiential learning beyond the classroom, delivering mobile career exploration activities directly to schools and local community sites. Through hands-on participation, students were introduced to science-and technology-based career paths that are often difficult to access due to geographic or environmental constraints.
Led by Professor Min Chung Kim, the program’s overall design and quality management were carried out in collaboration with Tedu Education Promotion Agency, an alumni-founded company of the UNIST Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Management. The partnership translated UNIST’s research and educational resources into accessible, student-centered content, contributing to meaningful educational outcomes and broader social impact.
“This award recognizes our efforts to provide science-and technology-based experiential learning to students who may otherwise have limited opportunities for career exploration,” said Professor Kim. “UNIST will continue to leverage its educational and research strengths to promote more equitable access to career education.”
