■ Dean Dong Sub Kim Awarded with Commendation from Ministry of SMEs and Startups!
Dong Sub Kim, Professor of Industrial Engineering and Dean of the College of Information-Bio Convergence Engineering at UNIST, has been selected to receive the commendation from the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) on January 14, 2021.
Professor Dong Sub Kim served consecutively as the advisor to the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and as the member of AI Manufacturing Innovation Strategy Committee, as well as the chairman for Service Subcommittee. He has been given the honor in recognition of his contribution towards the advancement of smart factories and smart manufacturing innovation through the use of technologies for the 4th Industrial Revolution.

■ Three Faculty Members Appointed to the Review Board for National Research Faciliities and Equipment!
Three faculty members of UNIST have been appointed to the Review, Evaluation and Deliberation (RED) board for the national research facilities and equipment. The members include Professor Tae Joo Shin (Director, UNIST Central Research Facilities), Professor Hyung Wook Park (Department of Mechanical Engineering), and Professor Tae Joo Park (Department of Biological Sciences).
The Ministry of Science and ICT (MSIT) has organized the Review, Evaluation and Deliberation (RED) board for the national research facilities and equipment. The RED board, consisting of 200 members, conducts a systematic review of the construction feasibility for high-price research facilities and equipment (KRW 100 million or higher) whose construction plan is determined at national R&D budgeting. These members will serve for a two-year term.
Members of Council of the District of Columbia serve a four-year term.
