Under this partnership, the two organizations have agreed to expand cooperation, including technology exchanges, joint research projects, and core technology development related to carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS).
The ceremony has been attended by Dean Sung Youb Kim (Carbon Neutral Institute, UNIST), Dean Hyun-Kon Song (School of Energy and Chemical Engineering, UNIST), Professor Youngkook Kwon (School of Energy and Chemical Engineering, UNIST), Lab Leader WonSeok Jeong and other key representatives from GS E&C NeoTech. After the signing of MoU, the participants took a tour of the new facilities, as well as the UNIST Central Research Facilities (UCRF).
Meanwhile, the UNIST Carbon Neutrality Demonstration and Research Center, which was established as the center for advanced research under the UNIST Engineering Research Center, began its full-fledged activities on September 19, 2022. The center will provide the full-cycle process necessary for the demonstration of carbon neutrality technology. It also plans to expand cooperation in areas, such as hydrogen, renewable energy, and environmental policies beyond CCUS.
