THE LOAD Co., Ltd., a student startup based at UNIST, is proud to announce its selection as the ‘First Penguin Company‘ by the Korea Credit Guarantee Fund (KODIT). This recognition marks a significant milestone on their path to achieving their vision and making a lasting impact in the field of hydrogen technology.
The ‘First Penguin Program‘ by KODIT is a credit guarantee system, designed to support high-potential growth companies with exceptional ideas and technologies. The program identifies innovative startup companies that are 5-year-old or younger, that display the potential to become unicorn companies and helps them pioneer new avenues of growth to become global leaders. In light of this distinction, KODIT has granted THE LOAD Co., Ltd. access to financial support, with funding of up to 3 billion won (approximately $2.5 million USD). THE LOAD Co., Ltd. will receive 1.5 billion won (approximately $1.3 million USD) to fuel its continued expansion.
Founded by Dr. YuBin Kim, a distinguished graduate of UNIST, THE LOAD Co., Ltd. has gained recognition for its eco-friendly catalyst-related technology. Their groundbreaking approach revolves around a high-efficiency, low-cost hydrogen production and fuel cell system that harnesses the power of the “carbon aerogel-white catalyst platform.” This cutting-edge technology is poised to lead the way in the hydrogen economy, ushering in a new era of sustainable energy.
